Happy Friday everybody!!
Or should I say happy early Mother’s Day, Teacher Appreciation Day, Nurse Appreciation Day, recovering from Cinco de Mayo day, Kentucky Derby day and any other awesome-fun-day-we-can-try-and-cram-into-one-week day! 😉
In honor of all of these fun festivities we have going on, I thought I’d share with you one of my favorite go-to summer drinks: my classic sangria recipe. It’s an oldie but a goodie. Plenty of fruity delicious goodness with just a little kick; the perfect choice for sipping on warm summer days, and in our case enjoying some homemade pizza and a movie. Yay, date night!
It would also go really well with some of that guacamole we had earlier last week…oh man, citrusy goodness with some guac…date night just may get a menu change…
Sorry about that. Kind of got lost there in my little foodie heaven for a second.
Anyways back to the sangria!
The thing I love about this summertime staple is that it’s super simple to make and is always a crowd pleaser. We’re talking TWO steps here people!! It doesn’t get much simpler than that. You just need to combine a few ingredients and let it chill, and you my friend will have the makings of a killer classic sangria!
What you’ll need:
- 2 750ml bottles of your favorite red wine
- 1 cup of brandy
- ½ cup of triple sec
- 1 cup of orange juice
- 1 cup of lemon lime soda
- ½ cup of sugar
- 1 orange
- 1 lime
- 1 lemon
- Slice up fruit and set aside.
- Combine all ingredients in a pitcher and let chill before serving!
Makes: 1 pitcher
See?! Two steps and you’re done. Seriously, the hardest part is leaving it alone to chill! But trust me, once it’s good and chilled it will be heaven in a cup!
So grab yourself a
pitcher glass, and have a happy “whatever-it-is-you’re-celebrating” day!
