In a just a few short weeks, we will be hosting our daughter’s first birthday at our house; nothing crazy, just a sweet family gathering to celebrate our baby girl. So along with any party planning that needs to be done, this also means our house will be on display. And although I like to think I keep a relatively tidy house, it definitely could use a little spring cleaning before the big event.
Of course, the first place I looked for guidance was Pinterest but was quickly overwhelmed by these incredible spring cleaning guides that were a little more involved than I’m really prepared for. They were wonderful guides, but I’m a busy mom with a party to plan, which means I need a real feasible guide.
So to keep myself accountable, and maybe share a little spring cleaning love, I’ve compiled my realistic version of the room by room spring cleaning checklist. Free printable included!
I think one of the most important parts about spring cleaning for me is not trying to do it all at once. For families without kids, or maybe older kids, that may be doable. But I can’t imagine trying to tackle all of my spring cleaning in one sitting with a baby underfoot.
I like to break it down into realistic chunks by adding pieces of it to my regular to do list. This way I don’t get overwhelmed and run under the covers and never get it done.
By doing your spring cleaning in increments you allow yourself to really focus on the task at hand and still get everything done in a reasonable time frame. Which, with company coming over for a birthday party, I don’t have a ton of time to slack off!
So round up your usual cleaning suspects, along with your checklist, and let’s get to cleaning!
